What could they have done better?
I do not believe Dan could have done better in terms of his advice and support

I was hoping to retire and wanted to understand whether I had sufficient funds to do so but I also had US shares and needed to plan for repatriating the funds over time

What could they have done better?
They could have been more precise in the tax treatment for the first year of my draw-down. The pro-rata'd an annual annuity, which should have been treated a whole for tax purposes. This was an expensive error.
What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for a financial adviser?
I had a number of pensions from different providers. When I retired I was advised by all of them to consult a financial planner. I did a web search of providers and after Ionia meetings with three companies I selected TPO.
How has Merve helped you?
Merve and her colleagues suggested that I consolidated most of my pensions in a TPO managed SIPP, conducted a lifestyle review, developed a financial plan and a draw-down policy. These are reviewed on an annual basis.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Yes, generally. We have debated a number of issues amicably, like categories for spending when I was itemising outgoings. The main problem was the tax treatment of income in my draw-down report.
