I don't know I'm not qualified to answer.
My first wife (who died in 2011) initiated it and we had an adviser for a few years (Allied Dunbar?) who retired and was replaced by Mr Throp. The earliest letter I have from Mr Throp is February 1999, but our association started some years before. Our concern was to accumulate enough finance to cover care in old age, to prepare to give our children an inheritance and to arrange to cover the inheritance tax they would be required to pay.
He helped by advising us about the various possibilities for investment, taking account of the level of risk and the probable timescales involved. He also guided us through the intricacies of inheritance tax and arranging for it. He also visited us every few months to review the plans and make recommendations. After my first wife died, I eventually remarried and moved house. He arranged to invest the proceeds of the house sale. Throughout he has been professional and friendly.
I have no complaints! If I'd ever wanted things to be done differently I would have mentioned it and I'm sure he would have reacted positively.
