When we were discussing inheritance planning and some money that I wanted to pass on to family members, Gethin mentioned that we should look into doing a Deed of Variation on my mother's will so the gifts did not fall under the seven-year rule. This is something I wasn't aware of and was invaluable advice. He also provided advice as my son and daughter-in-law purchased their first property. Gethin has implemented switch and sell trades to raise some cash and bring my portfolio closer in line with the recommended strategy. Also, as I am now receiving my State pension we looked at my monthly drawings and how all of these changes affected my income projection.
